The girl in the mirror
I know that i can be better.
But the girl I see in the mirror isn't me anymore.
she is pained and overwhelmed by sorrow.
her eyes are filled with grief and loss.
her blue eyes glisten with the tears of a lifetime of mistakes.
under her eyes are dark circles left by night after night of restless sleep.
part of me wants to cry for her.
to reach out and hug her, telling her it will be okay.
but every time i try she mimics me.
and i realize she is just a sad reflection of what i used to be.
