Jesus
The old abandoned church.
The sanctuary filed with seats
With no one sitting in them.
Sunday school classes,
Empty with no teachers or
Students lecturing.
I found Jesus gladding down
The empty hallways.
Looking for his followers.
The ones who claimed
To love him a while back.
If only he knew,
People were pushed away,
By his own disciples.
Who thought being
Unperfected was an
Unforgivable sin.
He stops and looks
Through the little
Square windows on
Each door.
He finds dirt
On the floor.
And spiders crawling
On the uncolored walls.
He keeps on looking.
He finds no one.
Here at this church
Sin was prohibited.
Jesus starts crying
Falling on his knees
Calling out for all
The ones who
Were pushed away,
To come back.
No one had to be
Perfect.
Just believe in me
He cries out.
Just believe in me!
