Inevitable
1 year
Spring. Summer. Fall. Winter.
6 months
Motivation
10 days.
Order and domination.
One year, six months and ten days,
That's it.
It's inevitable,
Each moment so permanent.
Will I live to see each of those days go by?
Each speedy second zoom past,
Twirling me around, engulfing me in their infinite trench of anguish.
Only to be ended in a quick flash of darkness?
It's inevitable,
It cannot be stopped,
Not even slowed,
But easily sped up.
One year, six months and ten days?
What about two years, three months and twenty days ago?
That's when this journey began.
Every moment so vital
Minor decisions determining gigantic future events
As the winter wind begins to once again wrap around me bringing chills up my spine
I am once again reminded of how fragile
Life, people, time, moments
Can be.
It's inevitable but not certain.

This is a poem I wrote about my high school career coming to an end. I suddenly realized how quickly I would be on my own and how each day is impossible to stop.
