I'm walking down the road of life
And I don't know where I'm headed
I see nothing it's all a fog
And if you asked me where I was
I'd ask you for a map
And if you tell me where I am
I'll ask where I'm going
I'm lost on the road of life

I'm walking down the road of life
I see nothing but perfection
I pinch myself I must be dreaming
But I couldn't be because all my dreams have come true
I'm walking down a solid gold street
Lined with diamond lampposts
Until I see you standing there
And sadly just point out
It was all a joke

I'm walking down the road of life
I'm now drenched in rain
Its pouring now and hailing, too
I hope it doesn't storm
My thoughts are ignored
My nightmares come true
Anything bad that could possibly happen
Happened
I no longer smile bright
My tears mix with the rain
And then I think, 'Oh boy, more 'surprises'.'
When everything goes wrong

I'm walking down the road of life
I keep tripping and all I do is stumble
I see nothing
I've lost my way in this fog of lost thoughts
I need a direction
And soon I see a light in the distance
Only to find it as a trick
I've lost my sense of humor now
Please guide me back home
The road of life is nothing but yourself
You just have to realize who you are

And soon the sky, it does clear up
And we all cheer again
I'm walking down the road of life
And it is really, rather pleasant
