Numbness
Sometimes I wonder if you think about me
If my face still stirs your heart
I bet you're happier than ever
But my life is falling apart
You're off having fun at college
And I'm home alone with no good friends to talk
You hang out with your new girlfriend
But I tend to cry a lot
It feels like I'm hollow inside
I can't believe I was so dumb
You took me and then dumped me
And turned me completely numb
You promised me you wouldn't leave
But after a while you left
My chest aches again with another loss
And my soul is beginning to drift
No one seems to care about me
They don't even try to talk
It's like one by one my bones are breaking
I can barely even walk
Make sure you think about your promises
Before you go spitting them out
Because you can really break somebody
and fill them with sadness, despair, and doubt
