The Following
My breath pumping in and out
My heart pounding heavily
My mind trying to figure it all out
My feet pumping lightly
I look into the window on my right
He’s still following me
I run across the block on the right
But he’s just behind me
I race at full speed
But he catches up
I worry that I’ll trip at this speed
The moon is lightening up
My feet pound on the pavement
Am I safe?
Footsteps sound on the pavement
Am… I… safe?
I close my eyes
He’s right in front of me
I don’t want to open my eyes
But he’s right in front of me
I cry
He laughs
I cry
He laughs
I turn to run
He grabs my arm
He stops my run
A handcuff is on my arm
“Stupid Sherlock,” I say
“Stupid criminal,” He says
“Well what do you think I’ve done,” I say
“Murder, Moriarty. Murder,” He says
