"Love passionately, relentlessly, and blindly"

I hate you

I hate the way you glare at me,

As if to make me feel less than free

But let me remind you that this smile's fee

was more than the bottles you bought

and hung on that tree.

I hate you

I hate the way you push me away

then repeatedly ask me to stay, as if in some way

my company is a necessity like some remedy

to keep you from the glass.

I hate you

I hate the way you lie to me

But I know within that the reason you deceive

is to keep my heart's rhythm,

But now I find it hard to believe

you when you say, "I won't take part"

I've seen you pull that card one too many times.

I need you

I need to hear your swaying voice saying

"not one sip" as your senses of rationality and poise

rip like the pieces of paper that we thought were stonger

But all paper, when drenched in alcohol,

will tear.

I need you

I need you to be sober

Had I known back in October

Mmmmm things would be different

I know you don't do it often,

but it's the one thing to put you in a coffin

So for the love of God and my love for you

just stop.

I love you

I love you too strongly to watch you, so lovely,

fall under the spell of your own intoxicating hell

Your mind deflating, air expel

Thats not the way I want to find you.

But I love you

I love you too much to see

anything preventable make you unstable

But I love you too much to continue replacing you

with a label reading "drunk".

This is my plea for someone I love to quit drinking.

Yes, the photo is also mine.
