When life gives you lemons, make grape juice, then watch everyone wonder how you did it!

ahead of me I see a long, long road
one I travel every day
one that always stops and starts
but never seems to end
I'm alone on this long, long road
there's nothing to be seen for miles
with each step I lose hope
with each step I grow more weary
there's nothing on this long, long road
except the unsteady rhythm of my feet
I stumble and fall
but no one's there to catch me
I'm sick of this long, long road
that stretches out endlessly
where I tread alone while searching
searching there for something more
I continue to walk this long, long road
I have no choice but to do so
I'm just tired of being alone
it's the one thing I'll always hate
it seems aimless on this long, long road
that seems to lead everywhere and nowhere
my strength is gone and I'm exhausted
but I'm forced to keep walking
someone save me from this long, long road
make my feet stop walking
question me, look into my eyes
see what I'm becoming
but even as I cry out I'm on this same long, long road
my agony is consuming
my darkness is contagious
it scatters everyone away
stop me from walking this long, long road
force me to realize something
'cause if you don't
I'm not sure what will be left of me
for now, I just keep walking this long, long road
seemingly endless, seemingly difficult
I'm bruised and cut, broken and ready to give up
'til someone decides to rescue me
from this long, long road

I'm sure I'm not the only one that travels this "long, long road." Do you? If so, is anyone doing anything about it?

I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when theyre right, and sometimes good things fall apart so that better things can fall together -Marilyn Monroe

wow. thats was amazing, and powerful, and i loved the honest helplessness, it seems to be the stroy i used to be living. and i found god, he did something for me.

First off, can I just say that I love your poems, Natalie? They are reflective, often sweet and often sad, and I like how they force me to think about my life. And that might also answer your question about MY long, long road...when I read poetry, it makes me turn and smile, look back to where I started, and realize I have come a long way in this race of life. Poetry and the bittersweet joy found in it often help me to not only get where that long road leads/ends, but also enjoy the journey, tough as it may be.

5/5! :)
