There's plenty of sense in nonsense, if you wish to look for it.
-Cassandra Clare

Hear the tale that is old

Hear the story that humanity has long since told

There is a land far from hand

Far from man there is deserted sand

She houses many that proud and true

Some of which she will not share with you

There be the tiny little fellows that speak of gold and silver

And the tall, lithe creatures that hold arrow and quiver

Then prancing four-legged beauties lifted b feather pearly wings

More so sweet children who splash in crystal springs

In forests deep and dark and unexplored

Are beasts that hungered and snarled and roared

With sure disguise there are people of leafy tree

Who seek nothing horrid or any frivolous melee

Deep in hidey holes are those who take

The moon before the sun's harsh, bright rake

High in the mountain's snowy ranges

Sits those whose skin shifts and boils and changes

This is no land for human joy or trivial pleasure

For this is where the Dragon holds his treasure

Many have sought the treasure's glorious shine

And scales of fire crafted from something divine

Tales have reached the ears of old, shrewd men

Of the fiery giant's deep dark dragon den

When this beast was in childhood and new and proud

Whose horns had not grown and call not yet so loud

How when in youth he'd capture the damsel fair

And carried her up higher and higher in the fast air

Now in his ancient age he slumbers and rests forevermore

Across the long waters that will never be traversed by any oar

Diamonds serve him as a pillow and rubies a blanket

Pearls are his mirror, sapphires he owns crafted into trinket

Silk he hangs like soft cobwebs, gems woven in the threads

This is his palace that every man dreads

It is fear that keeps their eyes from seeing

The wealth, the glory, the fame massed under this being

Even the creatures of the land will keep the distance

That allows them to live the long life of coexistence

Both know the beast is old but quick to temper

So beware of this treasure loving emperor

Now you have heard the tale that is old

Now to you the story has been told

There is a land far from hand

Far from man there is deserted sand

This is no land for human joy or trivial pleasure

For this is where the Dragon holds his treasure

This is just how I would imagine an island of fantasy creatures. I especially love dragons.
