No Place I'd Rather Be
When eternal slumber engulfs me,
and I am covered in silk from head to feet,
There’s no place I’d rather be.
A running river becomes a settled sea
and bandits in the night cease to fleet,
When eternal slumber engulfs me.
I arrive at a meadow, there standing, a lone tree.
No one to talk to, no one new to meet.
Still, there’s no place I’d rather be.
Then there is a lock, which knows no key.
It hides all my failures, and makes them one grand feat
When eternal slumber engulfs me
I feel a chill as my eyes close slowly,
And I see a faint light at the end of the street
Yet, there’s no place I’d rather be
My soul is taken from you, and even from me,
and my body becomes nothing but flesh and meat.
When eternal slumber engulfs me
There’s still no place I’d rather be.
