They'll Say They Loved Me
“Tune them out, dear.”
But the girl with the twisted heart hears it all
The insults, the lies, the imaginary ideals of the individuals residing in the hall
Their words built up a world unfit and unjust
Social standing and beauty products are a must
Imaginary from birth
Imaginary till they are beneath the dirt
“It’s all pretend.”
The frustration grows in her chest
Here, she won't ever surpass second best
An ignorant world holds no beauty, only pageants
With every judgments she struggles to keep her balance
“I need to escape.”
She searches desperately for a distraction
No one shows up to provide her protection
In a school of fish, she swims alone
Everyone around her has proven to be nothing more than another clone
“I need to breathe.”
She’s suffocating, smothered by the constant disappointment
She’s struggling to keep hold, there’s always abandonment
Where does she go from here?
A wingless angel surrounded by demons, She’s full of fear
She fell.
Her heart being drug down by society’s unwritten requirements
They blinded her with insults, no one knew of her importance
She was the lighthouse, breaking through the dark
Her fire was extinguished by the emptiness of their minds and hearts
They erased the journey she had yet to embark
She just wanted to be loved. She was give only one choice, to part.
“Goodbye.”
She said as she leapt off the edge of her existence
There was never anything here for me
I've finally been set free by their hate, their persistence
Now, I can be whoever I want to be
“Now, they'll say they loved me.”
