Heartbreaker
Shiny, Clear, Pure
You lean in close
To the glinting sunlight
Grab! Reach! You gather it up
Close to your heart, Its beautiful
Too late you realize your prize
Was just a bunch of broken glass
But now your finger are cut
You bleed in silent distress
No one to blame but yourself for how stupid and naive
You were
You try to hide from everyone
From yourself
Stupid. Ignorant. Blind
Everyone saw but you
Kick the glass to the curb
Clean yourself up
And leave the brokenness there
A beautiful, shining;heartbreaker
Glittering
On the side of the road
