I am from books
From Hatchet, to History
I am from coloring books
From Hello Kitty, to Cars

I’m from Houses
Kylie-Rain’s, and Steven’s with doors creaking open
I am from friends
Kylie-Rain, and Seddaly, with fun and laughter

I am from tools
From hammers to pointy screwdrivers
I am from my Daddy
Loving tools, to putting his family before him

I’m from notebooks, flipping pages
Sketching, and drawing
I am from art supplies
Sketch pencils scratching on the paper in the silence
Crayons spreading across the paper like a rainbow crossing the sky

I am from my Grandpa Vladyka
From the shooting of guns from the Vietnam War
I’m from laughing at his funny fairy tale stories

I’m from yard tools
From the rake crackles of the leaves in the fall
The bang of the ladders on the roof while my Dad fixes the chimney
The scratching of the shovel against the ice in the winter

I am from the barks of dogs
from Cody, Molly, and Flash

I am from crazy, energized cats
from Mocha, Optimis, Bella, and Gypsy

I am from Criminal Minds
From liking Dr. Spencer Reid
Watching how criminals minds work

I am from my Daddy’s sayings
From “If you were sorry you wouldn’t have done it,”
“Sorry doesn’t cut the mustard,” funny like a comedy

I am from my family
From my annoying but nice brothers Kris, Shane, and Stanley “Buddy”
My Mommy who loves me,
My Daddy who helps me through my rough times,
My caring and loving sisters Jasmine and Sky
