My Own Prison

I'm going in blindly for once
not caring where I end up
absent of thought in this lingering silence
no longer able to warm up

Trapped in a prison of loneliness
with my shattered heart
this unbearable pain is making me breathless
only in echos do I hear sweetheart

My eyes are dried up from tears
with emptiness as my cloak
hiding me from anything that nears
forever without my kinsfolk

Blackouts fill my memories
of times I don't want to see
I threw away the keys
drunk in glasses of brandy

My bloody rose, I hold
with thorns piercing my skin
to the tips of my fingers the blood rolled
tears flowing within
