Sweet Caroline
My heart, my darling, the love of my life
Are you really, truly, who you say?
To say you love me, then cause me such strife
And take my heart and throw it away
Like some discarded trash you desire no more.
Though I loved you, I loved you, with my body and soul
And cared for you from my very core.
You took my love and left it in the cold.
My sweet Caroline, I don’t believe I shall ever mend
From when you left me alone in the dark
And turned your back on me and signaled the end.
On that starless night, alone in the park.
And just when I thought I could weep no more,
I discovered Eleanor.
