Listen
I, too, sing America.
I am young,
But not dumb.
I am capable of anything.
Just because I am under eighteen,
Doesn’t mean I’m a troubled teen.
I am a young adult,
Ready to prosper and grow,
Ready to show the world all that I know,
Don’t leave us out, listen to what we say,
Your futures are your youth today.
Give me more freedom.
I’m growing up and growing fast,
Notice before time has past,
And I’m out of the house and on my own.
I am young,
But not dumb,
Mature in every way.
Let me show you that responsible,
For too you I am valuable.
