Seasons
Time,
Like leaves in fall,
Passes right on by.
Without any warning
Just falling from
The sky.
But somehow
We don’t notice,
The wonder that they hold.
Just racing by
We don’t perceive.
We simply do just as we’re told.
Not knowing
What the season is,
About our tree of life.
We merely just keep running,
Away from all our strife.
Until one day,
The leaves are gone.
And there’s not one single sound.
The day you wish you’d noticed.
The leaves were falling down.
That’s when
You turn around
With a sinking heart.
Wishing you could
Turn back time,
And get a fresh new start.
But sadly,
Things don’t work that way.
And you’d better look around.
Because,
Before you know it,
The leaves are falling down.
