Feeling each harsh truth like needles in my skin,
Driving your rejection into my heart.
I know you can't mean this,
Don't you still love me?
Have you really left me?
A bitter spark of anger sits on my tongue.
What kind of heartless monster are you?
We can fix things, I promise.
Who am I kidding?
This could never work,
The scent of your touch lingers with your perfume.
Rays of light penetrate my despair,
Sounds of their voices lift me up.
A brightening day lies before me,
Your weight has finally lifted.
