Every morning she listens to the leaves tumble in the flowing air
and the waves of the stream
smash agains the cold hard rocks.
She hears the sad songs from the birds
and the anger in that young mans voice as he yells at his wife.
But stil, she listens.
Never giving up hope that one day,
the wind will whistle softly, free of leaves,
the stream will flow freely along,
and the birds will sing of joy.
She listens for the young mans voice to be soft again, but what she listens for most is answers.
Answers that will someday, make her happy again.
