Nameless Eyes
Wings over a troubled land,
A shadowed sky,
A dreaming city,
Eyes that haunt the dreams of angels,
Eyes that burn with ice-cold fire,
A candle in the night,
A cloud over a noonday sun,
Lightning at twilight,
A face reflected, nameless, among the stars,
The universe contained in a puddle,
That breaks and wavers,
As the tears fall, and ripples,
Reaching out, spreading,
Until no corner of that universe is still.
It shimmers around that nameless face,
A broken halo of a fallen angel,
Glittering shards of a fragmented dream,
And that face is crying,
In the tears is the reflection of a reflection,
And those eyes that burn are falling,
Because walking on the edge,
You can never cry,
Or dream,
Or stumble,
Because if you do,
You die.
For who would save one,
Who never cries,
Or dreams,
Or stumbles?
