Ashtray
This complicated object is one of curiosity
A beautiful place to keep unwanted atrocities
It is an odd practice of indignity
To use something so lovely for purging rubbish
But in a way its far too common in society
For some cities are the ashtrays of economy
And yet we think that it’s all right and in honesty
We justify this system of cruelty
The jails and hovels are filled with our trash
The unwanted and discarded of humanity
But when will we learn not to use hypocrisy
The ashtray remains a magnificent item of impropriety
