Painted Pictures
Painted pictures, fading in across a wall
Wishing wells filled with repeating spells
Lace so gold and jewels so worn
Into the earth
Stepping slowly into the past
Of so many linked lives once lived
So used
So abused
So sick of this place
The glass cracks
And maybe, finally, I’ll be able to live again
