Quietus
You sense my coming
I’m all over the news.
For some my arrival is expected
For others I give no clues.
Your feeble attempts are useless
For you battle with ways of medicine.
I shall affirm my inconvenience
But surely you know I’ll win.
It is chance that selects
Of whom I’ll next meet.
But the old and the ill
I tend to first greet.
I am everywhere, yet nowhere
Penetrating all with one last breath.
I disunite the body and soul
For I am Death.
