To The Moon
I went to the moon last night, as soon as it came out.
Remember months ago—I walked you there! I
wondered where you’d gotten to I took the trip
myself this time, but not by foot, by train where
I was free to stare At all the starry scenery. Amidst
the craters there was Ancient brick knee deep in ivy
and I told the folks about how closely it resembled
Harvard Square. All the area shops were so
expensive, so I just through My moon money to the
atmosphere and watched it Fly away. I kissed all the
bills I could catch goodbye—I hoped they might be you.
