My country

High School poetry contest Brothers and sisters
We are all the same
Allah(God) created us the same
We are Muslims
There is one different
One is smart and not the other but that's not the case
I believe that we learn by practice
Let's put the gun aside and pray for those who we lost
The gun is our enemy and it brings tears
What's the gun for if you already know that it hurts so bad
But the bullets isn't the killer
It's us
I see on the news young kids suffering
A mother who also trying to be a father
And a Father who also trying to be a mother
I see young kids who are scared to laugh
I see hopes that disappeared but not war
Mistakes are often made to learn a lesson
You keep killing your own brothers and sisters
What lesson have you learned
I was born in war and I grew with a war in my country
Sometimes I wonder, but there's no answer
There is no government who cares enough to provide for you
There are no police to keep things under control
In one second your life can turn upside down
Let's stop killing and have some peace
Let's join hands and show some love
Lets work side by side
Then smile with pride
Together we can achieve our goals
I pray for peace, I cry Like the rain
For freedom of my country
I raise my beautiful flag
Like the sun of noon
For freedom of my country
I write for freedom of all

I wrote this because of the war going on in Somalia. I just wish they could stop fighting and understand each other.
