Hidden Emotions
Hidden Emotions
Who is that girl
That I constantly see
In the mirror
Staring back at me
She wears a forced smile
I watch her, and sigh
Something is hiding
Behind sparkling eyes
As I observe her
The smile fades
Her thoughts are distant
In a far off place
Who am I, she wonders
A tear streams down her cheek
She once looked so confident
Now she’s frail and weak
After a moment
Of sorrow and shame
She takes in a deep breath
And prepares for life’s game
