A Pondering Sight
A man once walked among the flowers,
He pondered there and thought for hours,
Wondering what his life would be,
If he was blind to all beauty.
The clouds soon shifted, blocking the light,
All seemed dark, as if it were night.
The man groped around, but had no luck,
Rain started to pour, and he felt stuck.
The moon cast its light across the grounds
Except for the rain, he hears no sounds.
A thick leaved tree loomed ahead,
Under it, the man was dry instead.
The wind began swiftly across the field,
As it approached, all the flowers kneeled.
Rain drops splattered all around,
But to its nature, the man was bound.
He realized then if he were blind,
That all earth’s beauty was what he would find.
He now knew that all beauty wasn’t rare,
From the stars in the sky, to the scentful air.
After believing for such a while,
The man no longer held denial.
The man now knew that he saw all beauty,
As long as he held the gift to see.
