Heal Me
Remember the silence.
The one in our dreams
The one filled with violence
The one that never sleeps.
Remember the beauty
That we once knew
The persistent duty
For our minds to witness the view.
Forget the crazy times
Filled with sadness and regret
Those moment of forbidden crimes
To which we owe our debt.
Forget the stains of my tears
On your bright yellow shirt
The one that relinquished our fears
When our bed was the dirt.
But don’t forget our past—
The irreplaceable illusion
Mirrored by the scars on our backs
And hidden by the helpless confusion.
And don’t remember the pain
The one that haunts our lives
The one that cries in vain
As our desperate hearts are pierced with knives.
Don’t forget the joy
On that bright winter day
The feeling we couldn't destroy
When the stars finally flew away.
Don’t remember the clouds
The ones so free in the skies
The ones that stopped our mouths
From saying the most solemn goodbyes.
Always remember the desire
To escape on the sea
But never forget the small fire
That courageously whispered, “Heal me.”
