In the Light of You
Desperation calls my name
from deep within the caves of my mind.
I cannot climb out, nor go in,
for your eyes have left me blind.
A bat is what I am,
roaming forever in the darkness,
unaware of your shadow
that carries my heavy carcass.
But your shadow, you see,
is what keeps me alive and new,
for in this cave of desperation
I fly toward the light of you.
