Roses are red. Violets are blue. An original poem is long overdue.

In the world inside my head
No one lives in poverty,
And everyone is fed.

In my world I cannot see
Past my own wants and needs.

I am always wanting more.
I think what I have is such a bore.

I don't realize how blessed I've been.
My life is completely lost in sin.

I have enough to satisfy my needs,
But not enough to satisfy my greed.

I need to pick up on the clues,
And step in other people's shoes.

When I stop thinking of me,
Then I will begin to see,

When I start giving,
Then I start living,
In the world outside my head.
