Snow White

A girl lay in the snow, frozen in time,
Her eyes open, empty, the colour of lime;
Blue dress flapping gently in the breeze,
Tranquil, alone, amidst tall pine trees.

In her hand, an apple, a small bite taken,
Because of this, she shall never awaken;
One side scarlet, the other jade,
Sweet as honey, deadly as a blade.

Her veins were like gossamer, lacing her skin,
Her red lips were still, never breathing in;
A halo of roses encircled her head,
There lay Snow White, unmoving: dead.

This piece was inspired by the traditional fairy tale of Snow White, and I wanted to explore what she was like after she bit the apple.
