Push on
You long sleeved warriors
You sons and daughters of loss
You who sees the world differently
You who have been through it all

Look in to my eyes and
See a false smile
See an emotional ocean
See a heart full of discontent
See the brink of death

Bring a light to the dark and
Witness strength
Witness the monsters of your past
Witness those murdered by society
Witness a valley of death

Invisible to others are
Memories like anchors
Hearts lusting for release
Scars laid horizontally on skin
Close proximity to insanity

Lift your head to
Accept brighter days
Welcome others like us
Relay mending smiles
Believe in reassuring eyes

Push on my long sleeved warriors
You are no longer broken

I was inspired by all of my extremely close friends and I dedicate this to them.
