Her Tears Don't Fall...They Crash Around Her

she let herself down
her walls,
those carefully constructed walls,
came tumbling down
when he looked her way
she swore she'd never
let herself become so vulnerable
again
the first time was a glitch
she told herself
everyone remarks on how strong she is
she never cries
not one single tear
she's made herself believe
that crying is for the weak
so why is it
when she finally figures it out,
that he wasn't meant for her,
those tears come crashing down
so hard, so fast?
