The pounding of the bass
My heart starts to race
The boom of a new beat
Tells me not to retreat
I finally step up
My time to shine
The judge looks at me
Giving me the sign
The music starts
And I lose control
The music coursing through my soul
I turn and stop as the music fades
But it's far from over
Then like a blade
The music cuts the silence
My body in a trance
Doing what the music tells it
The music faded again
This time I was done
An I stopped
With the last eat of the drum
