Stay the Bells
When people ask me what I dream about;
I'd tell them, but that they'd look down on me, I have no doubt;
My personal dream, my road to zen;
Is to one day be carried by six men;
And when those rifles go boom;
There won't be a dry eye in the room.
I want to die a friend in word and deed;
I want to make sure my loved ones have what they need;
I want to die fighting the good fight;
I want to lay down my life in support of what is right;
I want to sacrifice myself to send another home;
And I don't want to be remembered in word or tome.
When I die, I want to know I did what I had to;
And if I save a life, God'll forgive me for what I do;
And so, I want to be a savior of men;
But I don't want people to know the name Ben.
My personal dream, my road to zen;
Is to one day be carried by six men;
And when those rifles go boom;
There wont be a single person in the room.
