Favorite Quote:
"According to some, heroic deaths are admirable things. (Generally those who don't have to do it. Politicians and writers spring to mind.) I've never been convinced by this argument, mainly because, no matter how cool, stylish, composed, unflappable, manly, or defiant you are, at the end of the day you're also dead. Which is a little too permanent for my liking." — Jonathan Stroud (Ptolemy's Gate)

You meet the dark eyes, feel the dark pain
Stretch your fingers through the linked chain

Stretch for the soft head, glistening nose
Bury your hand in light fur before you go.

You check your watch and your blood runs pale
It’s end of hours, you know you’ve failed

Sign your name and grab two leashes
Dogs careening, untrained creatures

Out the front door, into freedom
They needed you; tonight you’ll need them

As you try not to hear the barking whines
Of the one you had to leave behind.

I have my own animal rescue, Finest Hour Animal Rescue, and work through Animal Life Rescue to stop the killing in my local shelter. Please - animals need your help.
