I keep the buried safe and sound
underneath my soft still ground
holding close to the night
I can show you a beautiful sight
clutch me in your hands my dear
I won't bite do not fear
I stay around for you all year
so do not shed a tear
I give to everyone and thing
for hopes and thoughts they do bring
please keep me close to your heart
and remember I was always here from the start
you can try to sift me apart
but I will always be a work of art
