Favorite Quote:
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately...."

In better judgment, ‘gainst my will,
I’ve kept myself from being swayed;
My love for you is silent still.
Although I’ve ventured once to fill
my heart’s desire, ‘twas once delayed.
In better judgment, ‘gainst my will,
I pleaded once again, “Fulfill
not selfish gain but selfless trade!”
My love for you is silent still,
for when the basin gently spilled
with drips of love my heart betrayed,
in better judgment, ‘gainst my will,
I slowed each droplet to a chill.
In icy hope I softly prayed,
“My love for you is silent still.”
For in that silence, love instills
a speechless craze: an art displayed
In better judgment, ‘gainst my will,
my love for you is silent still.

This was a piece inspired by my ex-girlfriend. I originally began this piece intending to write from what I believed was her perspective was back in middle school, but slowly, the piece turned into how I felt about her. A few months after I wrote this poem, we started dating again.
