Can You Stay?
Can I freeze time before all hours cease
So here and now will be our one concern?
Soft snow will drift in floating, crystal peace,
But minutes melt in sixty second turns.
These seconds are foundations in a life
Where minutes stack to hours in a day;
And ev’rytime I try to roll the dice,
The winds of Time blow all my luck away.
I’ll catch these moments in my broken hands
And barricade the world from barging through,
So nothing needs be done and nothing planned,
And ev’rything will stop but me and you.
Before I have to watch you sail from me,
I’ll try to drain the water from the sea.
