Favorite Quote:
It is never too late to be who you might have become.<br /> -George Elliot

The child is as fragile as glass
The child hurts easily
Eventually this child will shatter
And the only comfort the child can bring is to itself
Childhood is where you have to grow up quick
Where the child rocks itself when no body's there
The child whispers sweet nothings
But this is only for the child's ear
The child is alone
Quaking without a childish sound
No one to listen to that childish cry
They didn't offer the child comfort
And as the child spends more time relying on itself
The child realizes that it's time to stop being imaginative
And to put away childlike things
This child cries no more
This child doesn't rock back and forth
This child only stares
A blank unblinking face no child should have
And the child comes to the reality of adulthood
Where they do not cry any adult tears
The sit at their adult desk and work
The adult doesn't play
They follow, always follow, their adult leader
The adult has no more imagination
The adult looks at the child in humor
Knowing the child will soon be playing an adult game
The adult knows the child will let go of this foolish nonsense
Adulthood is where everyone can die
And the only solace an adult can have
Is in that nonexistent corner of a child's mind

I wrote this while making some important decisions. This is about growing up and the loss of innocence that growing up brings with the choices you have to make.
