The water rises close to my feet and then quickly retreats.

The frigid air saturates my body from head to toe.

The fragments of sea shells decorate the sand.

I pick a few up and observe them in my hand.

Thin rays of sunlight are peeking through the clouds.

They target my body seeking warm me up.

It lasts for a beloved moment but is replaced for a beloved moment but is replaced by a piercing blast of cold air.

Crashing violently, the waves beat up on the sand.

Talking quietly, groups of friends inspect the sand, meticulously looking for a prehistoric shark tooth.

Their own teeth chatter as they are struck by another blast of freezing wind.

I wonder where that shark tooth is. What did this wonderful beach look like before all this erosion? I wonder why anyone would leave anything but there footprints on this stretch of land.

The wonderful view relaxes me.

But then the surge of adventure shoots through me.

I feverishly search for the shiny black tooth.
