Old "friend"
Dear old “friend”,
Why?
Why would you treat me like your Cinderella?
You say that you love me
And I say don’t… You’re just a friend
And no more than that to me
But Prince Charming you never give up
Your persistence is infuriating
It gets on my nerves, as I look at you with piercing eyes
I was Cinderella, a kind, and warmhearted girl
You told me I was more than just average
(And the flattering statements girls love to hear)
I respected you so... Almost as royalty… but no
You put the glass slipper on my foot
I wore your impression for a short time…
Because when the clock hit midnight you were gone
I knew this would happen. Thank God you blew it!
I’m thankful for the people who helped me understand
You’re not the one…
And someday another Prince will come along.
And happily ever after will be our life song
Thanks for ALL the life lessons you taught me.
Your chapter ends here,
~ An old friend
