I am a book
Often left to gather dust
Or judged by my cover
But quite different inside
Before you I lay
Bare my real thoughts
But you must read between the lines
And I promise, they’re here
To understand my full tale
You must read my first page
Because assumptions can make me
Seem too stoic or direct.
I am a book
Full of knowledge and care
So one day, take me off your shelf
And perhaps you will hear
The words I’ve been saying
And then maybe you’ll see me.
