Who Am I?
I am a young Israeli teenager trying to survive
I wonder what it will be like to be a soldier
I hear bombs in the distance like thunder
I see our proud blue and white flag with the Star of David
I want our country to win the war and make peace
I am a young Israeli teenager trying to survive
I pretend to be 18 and just commissioned as a soldier
I feel sad when I think about my dead parents
I touch the Torah with its leather cover and gold pages
I worry about my small brothers and sisters
I cry when my siblings ask about our parents
I am a young Israeli teenager trying to survive
I understand that our parents gave their lives for our country
I say I am a proud Israeli Jew
I dream about a life without war, a life of peace
I try to be strong and keep going each day
I hope my siblings will not grow up to war
I am a young Israeli teenager trying to survive
