The Last Summer
The winter came and the winter past
The warm came rolling in
She couldn't help but notice the sweet August wind
Then she let her mind wonder to the summer of last
She sat in her window as she thought of the days
She remembered as this
She remembered the taste of his kiss
The way they danced in the sun rays
He promised her he would be there
She swore to him all she had
She never dreamed it would end so bad
When he left it just didn't seem fair
She cried her tears
But he never missed
The taste of her innocent kiss
She swallowed her fears
She said goodbye
and never cried again
