Chipmunks in Nature
Scurrying
Hurrying
Tiny little feet
Short tail
Brown butt
Searching for a treat
They run past
Fast fast fast
Chasing down the day
Carefree, careful
All they do is play
What's lost is found
Buried in the ground
A nut, a seed
Now up a tree
One for you and
One for me
Chattering away
Harmonious cacophonous
Just like a bird
Always understood
Though they never spoke a word
Sleeping now in peaceful hollows
Of trees both large and small
"What fun today!"
They seem to say
As night begins to fall
