" You're only as tall as your heart will let you be and you're only as small as the world will make you seem." - Christofer Drew Ingle

It was heart wrenching to see her like that
The woman I adored knotted in tubes and breathing equipment
How could the cancer have struck her so hard and quick?
The illness was so brutal; Cassius Clay couldn’t defeat it in the ring

That Easter Sunday when all was over, my family simply tried to forget
They called her bitter ending to be “cruel charity”
And how cruel it was
But, how could they guilelessly forget her?

Did they expect me to forget?
To forget all the times spent laughing or the way she applied her lipstick with great care?
Forget the sound of her cooking Christmas dinner or the tune she always hummed?
How could you forget a love so substantial and vigorous that it overpowered all of you?

After acknowledging this, I found there is a difference between forgetting and moving on
To forget it is a cowardly thing to do, but to move on takes a strenuous amount of strength
I would not disremember, but instead remember fondly
After all, nothing but memories last forever.

Dedicated to my grandomother, Maw Maw, I needed a way to express loss so this is how I decided to express it. With fond memories of her.

This was truly beautiful. I apologize because of your loss, but it's good you learned to maintain stength.
