The Fear of ME
Skeletons in the closet,
Monster in the mirror.
The world is scary,
But, we’re what we truly fear.
We’re afraid of what we are,
Afraid of what we’re not.
Afraid of what we’ve done
Afraid of what we’ve thought.
We’re afraid of how we see ourselves,
Afraid of how we feel.
Afraid of what may happen,
Afraid of what’s false, and what’s real.
But fear is not all we have.
We have happiness, love, and pride.
So show yourself and shine,
Don’t stay scared and hide.
We may be afraid of what makes us “me”,
But, spread your wings and you’ll be free.
