Between Winter and My Heart
When winter wandered onto
my windind path,
i knew there was no way
i would leave this place unscathed.
For the pain of you leaving
rained down with the snow
grew like irises in the winter sun
but i wouldn't let my agony show.
As i walked further on,
barrren trees are like angels gaurding me
since i walk alone,
no other soul can i see.
My shadow is my only companion
as flurries dance through the air,
cold winds caress the heart that's broken
but, i need not care.
For until i understand the agreement
between winter and my heart
i'll float through life like a cloud
alone on my path
and from him, always apart.
