muscles pushing,stressing, working
quiet as a cat lurking
tightening, wincing, worrying faces
their lives are these races
watchers captivated, exhilarated, proud
smiling faces are found in the crowd
to get ahead, sweating, hurting, pacing
all around, minds are racing fighting, trying, getting the win
tight hugs from excited kin
